3 ways to decorate your bedroom if you’re a nature lover

If you’re a nature lover, there’s no doubt that you love being outdoors. Does the sound of wind in the streets, the smell of wood after rainfall, or the sight of sunlight peeking between trees bring you a sense of calm? If so, then why don’t you bring that same feeling into the decor of your bedroom?

If you want to feel like your bedroom is at one with nature, we’ve put together a collection of three ways to decorate your bedroom for you to draw inspiration from. Through the use of plants, posters, and wooden furniture, you’ll soon have your own little slice of paradise!

Let’s dive in!

Plants and flowers

What screams nature and the outdoors more than an actual living plant? Plants, flowers, and trees have been a staple of outdoor decoration for centuries, but it’s only in the past few decades that they’ve started to become a staple of interior design.

There is a wide selection of house plants, potted flowers, and shrubs that you can add to your bedroom to make it feel green. You can recreate a jungle feel, woodland, or even just use them for a burst of color! Having living plants in your room also have lots of health benefits too! Research has shown that plants can:

  • Enhance creativity – that’ll help with your studying!
  • Act as natural air purifiers
  • Improve the acoustics of a room
  • Increase productivity and cognition
  • Increase overall wellbeing

There’s so much more to plants than just having a nice look and feel to them!

Posters and artwork

Posters and art prints are a great way to decorate a bedroom with minimal effort.  If you have a particular poster that you love, then you can use it as an anchor point to coordinate any new decorations around that image. This is a great starting point as once you’ve decided on the base of your color palette, you simply need to add a few accent items (like pillows, throws…etc)  to boost the look of your bedroom.

There are plenty of custom gifts for nature lovers that can be found online and on websites like PawAnimal, many of which will sell posters with trees, animals, and natural landscapes as the featured artwork. These are all great for decorating your bedroom if you’re a nature lover.

Alternatively, you could also look at getting one of your bedroom walls turned into a mural. Picture this: A photographic mural of sunlight through the trees on the wall behind your bed. Once you pair this with a few house plants, this room has a fresh and outdoors feel to it.

Wooden furniture

Adding some wooden furniture to your bedroom can give it a feeling of being in a forest or even a treehouse! By adding a weathered wood bed-frame, a tree trunk side table, or even some linens in tones of worn wood can make you feel as if you’re in a private cabin in the woods.

The best thing about wood is that there are so many different shades and tones for you to choose from. Whether you want it to be dark and rustic with walnut, or light and bright with beech, rest assured that there’s an option to suit the feel of your room.
