How To Keep Your House Clean With A Newborn Baby

Newborn babies require all of your attention. Because of this, it may be difficult to keep your house clean during the early days of your child’s life.

One of the most important things to remember during this time is that you are not alone. Do not be afraid to request help from your significant other and family members. You will be busy with diapers, feeding your baby , and more. During the early days when your baby is feeding almost nonstop, you will not have much time to put toward household chores. This is okay. The cleanliness of your house should not be your top priority at that time.

Lower your expectations when it comes to the cleanliness of your home. You will not have time to make your home as spotless as usual. Pick and choose the top priority areas and attack those areas when you have the time. Work in small chunks of time, as that is all you are likely to have. You may have to revisit the same task over and over whenever you get free time.

You will need to delegate your chores to others. Find out how they can help you. If you want to cook, ask your husband to clean up around the house and purchase groceries. Younger kids can tidy up around the house too. Do not underestimate your family members, as it is likely they will be glad to help.

Some ways you can make life easier during the first few months are as easy as making a small change in the way you do things. For example, you can use disposably dishes. This way, you will not have to worry about washing the dishes. A robot vacuum will alleviate some of the pressure as well. It might not be as effective as a regular vacuum, but it is certainly better than nothing.

You can also meal prep whenever there is time. If you have a lot of time during one day, make many meals and freeze them for days when you have little to no time.

Some grocery stores allow you to order online. This will ensure you get exactly what you need without even having to leave the house.

Your baby is likely to have at least one longer nap during the day. This will usually follow a trend. If you notice that your baby is napping for longer during a certain time of day, schedule all of the chores you cannot perform while your baby is awake during this time. This is a great opportunity to cook on the stove.

Some baby carriers allow you to breastfeed hands free. This allows you to perform tasks with your hands while satisfying your baby’s hunger at the same time, which means you can do things like fold clothes and clean up around the house while breastfeeding.
