As the holiday season fast approaches so do does the huge list of people who see this time of year as the perfect opportunity to pay that long overdue visit. And of course, most of them live far enough away that of course an overnight stay is almost inevitable.

With this in mind it is understandable that we will immediately begin to think not only of all those festive jobs that we still have to do but also to getting our homes in shape for these visitors and in some cases, this might involve giving some of the rooms a bit of a spruce up rather than just a good tidy.

Your bathroom might not be high on the list of rooms you would consider doing something with but it is definitely a room that your guests will notice. So here are just 4 ways in which you can spruce up your bathroom in anticipation of those festive guests.

New Tiles

Whilst remodelling your whole bathroom might not be necessary, if your bathroom floor is beginning to look a little dated then now might be a good time to consider replacing it in time for the festive season.

There are some fantastic ceramic floor tiles on the market at the moment and replacing your existing flooring with some stunning floor tiles will instantly elevate the look of your whole bathroom and give it a fresh new feel that will really wow your guests.

Festive Towels

New soft and fluffy towels are a great way to bring a real festive mood to your bathroom in a simple yet very effective way. More importantly this is a relatively inexpensive change that you can make. Choose warm tones; berry shades, autumnal colours or even rich reds and greens would all work really well to add an instant festive feel to your bathroom. You could also choose a mixture of festive colours that work well together.

Whilst changing the light fittings in your bathroom might not be a very practical idea there are a number of ways in which you can add a real hint of festive lighting to any room without the need for an electrician. There are some really festive fragrances around at this time of year that will add a subtle scent to your bathroom and a gentle light, perfect for taking a nice bath.
