Angelina Jolie's Dress

While some people are still trying to figure out whether gender is a social construct or not, others are trying their luck with online disabled dating. We, on the other hand, are taking a look at one of the best dresses we’ve seen in 2018 so far – and it’s worn by none other than Angelina Jolie herself!

Breaking the Mold

The red carpet, as everyone knows, is the favorite time for most (if not all) celebrities to come in with a new look that’s both going to show just how fashionable they can be and to promote a fashion designer. In this instance, it’s Ms. Jolie and her amazing Ralph & Russo gown.

The famous actress showed up at the 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards in a white, ostrich feather-enriched asymmetric dress that made a lot of heads turn – for a good reason. It wasn’t too provocative nor too conservative, but it was something that deserves to commented on and praised.

The Ralph & Russo dress that Jolie has worn a few days ago is just one of the many interesting designs that could be seen on this year’s Critic’s Choice Awards’ red carpet, but we’ll get to that later. The dress in question was a fresh look for the actress and it could really take you back to Old Hollywood – all she was missing was a pretty hat to look like Marilyn Monroe back in the day.

In any case, it’s a break not only from the usual black style Angelina brings to the carpet (which was, interestingly enough, also adorned by feathers at the Golden Globe Awards), but it also puts her in a rather positive spotlight in contrast to 2017, when she was mostly drawing attention for her controversial filmmaking methods.

The Competition

As we’ve mentioned earlier, there was a plethora of amazingly dressed celebs at the 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards. Apart from Angelina Jolie, it’s also worth noting that Kate Bosworth and Diane Kruger showed up in similar, predominantly white gowns that were very much old-fashioned but still very fashionable.

Actress Kaley Cuoco wore a J. Mendel brass-colored dress that accented all the right things on her amazing body while still making her look modest and not overexposed.

“Modern Family” star Sarah Hyland went for the ballerina look in a Naeem Khan dress – and in our opinion, it suited her quite nicely!

Margot Robbie, who is best known for her work in “The Wolf of Wall Street” and “Suicide Squad” wore a beautiful Chanel dress, but not in a way you would expect her to: instead of going for something that would make everyone notice her curves (which she has plenty of), the actress picked a spring-stile dress that made her look relaxed, happy and completely care-free.

Bottom line, we’re getting to the original point – the red carpet truly is the best place to see what the celebs are wearing nowadays. Watch out for the next one to see who will dominate it and who will fail to dress for the occasion!
